Sending your files by email

Picture files can be sent as attachments to emails, however you should be aware that some Internet Service Providers put limits on the size of files that they will accept. You should check with yours to see if they do. Also large files can take a long time to send if you only have a dial-up modem connection rather than broadband. A 10Mb file will take a minimum of 35 minutes to send with a 56k modem. ( A 5 megapixel camera will make a 15Mb tiff file, but somewhat smaller jpg file.)

You can attach more than one file to an email, but it is better to send them one at a time if they are large.

To send an email with a picture attached using Outlook Express, type your message as normal, using the New Message window, and then click the "Attach" tab (paper clip symbol). Select your file(s) using the File Dialog box that appears, then click "Send".

Other email programs, eg AOL, may be somewhat different.
